June 1 – 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
VENUE: CODY & SIOUX
Epitomizing the heritage of the Canadian West, a cow skull is a powerful image of the ruggedly tough spirit of a nation, and a tribute to the animals who sustain us. Both interesting and beautiful, hand painted cow skulls add a rich authentic feel to a living space, besides being a cult favorite of western home décor. These skulls are a reminder to live a life fulfilled.
Embrace your own western inner artist and create a skull for your living space. Mining material from found objects – carved saddle leather, braided rawhide, lace table cloths, patterned feathers – create a surface design that riffs off your relationship with the West.
Your workshop will be led by artist Sam Mitchell.
Add a painted steer skull to your collection today and bring the spirit of the Old West into your home or cabin.
WORKSHOP DETAILS: A fully cleaned, prepped and ethically sourced cow skull, as well as all materials needed including paints, brushes, stencils and found objects of the West. You are encouraged to bring your own inspirations to the table to help create a finished product that celebrates your connection with the West. The workshop location will appropriately be the creative space of the modern West shop, Cody & Sioux.
